Mr. Benoît Guidée, Director for Asia and Oceania at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, paid a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam, MP, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning.


During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the mutually beneficial partnership between Bangladesh and France and discussed ways to deepen cooperation across a wide range of sectors.


Key areas of discussion included trade and investment, supply chains, energy, space, defence, development cooperation, culture, education and skills development, migration, people-to-people exchanges, and peace and security.


The State Minister and the French Director also discussed enhancing political collaboration in bilateral and multilateral forums. Both sides underscored the importance of pursuing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the European Union to further boost bilateral trade.
They also exchanged views on regional and global developments, emphasizing the need for peace, stability, and stronger international cooperation.
