Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh Reto Renggli attended the Bluesign Sustainability Forum 2026 in Dhaka as the Chief Guest, where he underscored the growing importance of sustainability investments in the ready-made garment and textile sector.

Addressing industry leaders, international brands, and sustainability experts, Ambassador Renggli said that investing in sustainability not only enhances the competitiveness of the textile industry but is increasingly becoming a prerequisite for gaining easier access to global markets.

He noted that Switzerland continues to support textile factories in Bangladesh through its local partners, helping them improve competitiveness by adopting internationally recognized sustainability standards.
The ambassador emphasized that a knowledge and technology partnership between Bangladesh and Switzerland offers significant benefits for the private sectors of both countries. “Bangladesh brings industrial scale and ambition, while Switzerland contributes the tools, expertise, and credibility that global markets increasingly demand,” he said.

The forum brought together key stakeholders from the ready-made garment sector to discuss sustainable manufacturing practices, innovation, and the future of responsible textile production.
